Herschel Walker, born on March 3, 1962, in Augusta, Georgia, the United States to father Willis and mother Christine Walker. He grew up in Wrightsville, Georgia along with his family. He is one of the seven children in his family. While Herschel was a child, he was overweight and had a speech impediment.
After graduating from high school, Herschel played running back for the University of Georgia and became a winner of the 1982 Heisman Trophy and Maxwell Award. He is only one NCAA player who played only three years to finish the top ten in rushing yards.
While playing for college, he played a major role in helping Georgia avoid a defeat that year and win the national championship with a victory over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. Later, he was selected to the College Football Hall of Fame and became one of greatest football players.
Herschel is the winner of a USFL rushing title in 1983 and 1985. While he was playing for single-season, he made a record of rushing yards with 2,411 yards in 1985, averaging 5.50 yards per attempt in 18 games.
