Gregg Rudloff, Oscar-Winning Sound Mixer, Dies at Age 63

Gregg Rudloff, one of the renowned sound mixer who won Oscar Academy Awards for his work on Mad Max: Fury RoadGlory and The Matrix, died on January 6, at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center Los Angeles. He was 63.

According to a representative for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, the office is treating his passing as a possible suicide. However, the autopsy result is still pending.

Rudloff was nominated for Oscar for four other times; for American Sniper, Argo, Flags of Our Fathers and The Perfect Storm.

Additionally, the late sound mixer had also received an Emmy Award for sound mixing An Early Frost in 1985.

Rudloff followed his father, Tex Rudloff, into the business. Tex was also nominated for Oscar Award for The Buddy Holly Story. His other credits were Taxi DriverThey Shoot Horses, Don’t They?, and Clint Eastwood’s The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Funeral services for the late sound mixer will be announced in the coming days. Rest In Peace Gregg and Rudloff!
