Goodbye to 'Game of Thrones': Maisie Williams Leaves 'GOT' & She May Be the 'Last Woman Standing'

You won't be watching Maisie Williams in Game of Thrones anymore. The took to Instagram on Saturday, July 7 to bid farewell to the hit drama HBO series after wrapping up her final day on the set.

The 21-year-old actress, who has been playing Arya Stark on 'GOT' since she was 12, commemorated the occasion, sharing a photo of herself wearing bloodied-up white sneakers. Through the post, she also hinted that she may be the "last woman standing" on the show.

Adding the hashtags "#immasleepforthenextfouryears" and "#justkiddingidontsleep" "#lastwomanstanding #barely", she captioned the photo, "Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come".]

Maisie's GOT leave news comes just a couple of weeks after her co-star Emilia Clarke posted a goodbye photo of her own as she paid tribute to her last time playing Daenerys Targaryen.

Thus, fans have speculated that the eighth and final season of the hit HBO series will show the death of multiple main stars, and HBO executives also seemed to confirm it at the INTV Conference in Israel in March.

Of the cast's final table reads, the HBO SVP of Drama, Francesca Orsi, said,

It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers. None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one-by-one they started falling down to their deaths.

She added, "It was amazing. By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes."
