As a child, Giada spent most of her time at her maternal grandfather’s restaurant, DDL Foodshow. Later her parent took divorce and Giada along with her siblings moved to Southern California. There she attended Marymount High School and upon graduation, she enrolled at University of California, Los Angeles, where she received a bachelors degree in social anthropology.
After her academic education, Giada joined Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with ambitions of becoming a pastry chef. She then started her career as a professional chef and began working in several Los Angeles restaurants, remarkably the “Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago."
