Gabriel Iglesias, aka Fluffy, is a 41-year-old American comedian, actor, writer, producer, and voice actor. He was called comedy genius by senior staff writer/music columnist for San Antonio Express-News.
The comedian was ranked 9th highest-paid comedian in the world in 2013. In 2016, he was the 8th highest-paid comedian in the world. Gabriel Iglesias' net worth in 2018 is $30 million.
Gabriel Iglesias net worth is tens of millions of dollars as of 2018
It is very hard for someone whose job is to make other people laugh to have a net worth of $30 million. Contrary to popular belief, a comedian has to work hard a lot to make sure that he is able to make the crowd laugh in tears before he leaves the stage.
Gabriel was born in San Diego, California, as the youngest of six children of a single mother. He used to work at a cell phone company in Los Angeles. He grew up in Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park and Compton before settling in a Section 8, low-income housing block in Long Beach, where Iglesias spent the most of his childhood.

Afterward, he quit his job in order to join full-time comedy in 1997, against his family's wish. Joining full-time comedy was heavy for him as he was evicted from his home and lost his car. But he didn’t give up pursuing his dream and in 2012, during ALMA award, he was nominated for Favourite TV Reality, Variety, or Comedy Personality or Act.
Iglesias often references his weight in his comedy, often saying, "Oh, I'm not fat, I'm fluffy". He also employs voices, sound effects and storytelling in his act, and his other trademark signatures include his Hawaiian shirts and a "nice-guy veneer".
In 2000, Gabriel first appeared in the season 6 of Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That, co-starring with Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon after quitting his job at the cell phone company. Later, in 2007, he voiced an entire Mexican Family in Padre de Familia. Later that year, he started his voicing career and gave voice to twin characters in The Emperor's New School, a Disney animated series.
He was also a contestant in the fourth season of the reality TV series Last Comic Standing in 2006. He was disqualified from the show for using a smuggled BlackBerry phone to communicate with family and friends, which violated the rules of the show. Iglesias has hosted/co-hosted six episodes of Equals Three. In 2012, he played a strip club DJ and drug dealer in the film Magic Mike.
Gabriel also gave voice to the characters Ned and Zed in Planes (2013), a movie from Disney Toon Studio. He has voiced many other animated series. Nowadays he features in the new reality show Fluffy Breaks Even that is currently being broadcast on Fuse TV.
A high net worth comedian, Gabriel Iglesias owns a 14,404-square-foot property in Signal Hill compound, which he uses to store his touring essentials and company merchandise. The property has four bathrooms, of which one, measuring 172 square feet is apparently the comedian’s man cave.
His own house lies five minutes away, in Long Beach, California. Though he says he isn’t a big-time car lover, he has a handful of cars in his collection. Gabriel has remarked that his collection of cars consists either very fast or very slow vehicles.
Gabriel Iglesias is an avid VW cars and vans collector
Gabriel's first car was a 1968 Volkswagen Transporter – a Volkswagen bus that got him interested in collecting antique buses. Later, he added a 1967 21-window bus by VW and a 1956 Wolfsburg Edition 23-window bus in his collection.
Other than that, he has a 1985 Delta 88, Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Gold, Hummer H2, Chrysler 300 and a Tesla. His cars also include a 2013 Audi A8 and a 1979 Trans-Am signed by Burt Reynolds.
His other automobiles include SUVs like Nissan Infiniti, Ford Flex, and Land Rover Range Rover. He also owns a sports car by Chrysler.
In The Fluffy movie, Iglesias describes how, at his heaviest, he was 445 pounds (202 kilograms) and was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. With the blood-sugar level spiking to over 300 regularly, the comedian was given two years to live by his doctor.
He finally decided to turn his life around and started doing weight-lifting and Diamond Dallas Page Yoga, while taking a high-protein, low-sugar, slim-down diet that helped him shed more than 100 pounds (45 kilograms).
