Gabriel Iglesias was born as Gabriel Jesus Iglesias on the 15th July 1976 in San Diego, California, the youngest of six children to a single mother. As a boy, he grew up in Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park, and Compton.

His family later settled in Section 8, low-income housing in Long Beach, where Gabriel Iglesias spent most of his youth.
