Former NFL player Cierre Wood was arrested on Wednesday, April 10, in Las Vegas for killing the 5-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, Amy Taylor, authorities have confirmed.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, Cierre, 28, and Amy, 25, were both taken into custody after the girl died at Summerlin Hospital Tuesday night. The pair were charged with first-degree child abuse.
According to Clark County jail records obtained, Cierre and Amy were each held on the bond of $5,000.

FOX5 Las Vegas reported that they are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 11.
Cierre played for the National Football League from 2013-2015. He spent most of his career on practice squads with the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans
The sportsman played in college for Notre Dame between 2010 and 2013, accumulating nearly 2,500 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.
According to Yahoo Sports, most recently, he played in the Canadian Football League.
The investigation about the death of the child is going on.
