A Florida woman, namely Marguerite Williams, died due to the injuries she sustained after being shot in the head while she was walking home with her daughter on May 7.
The mother was walking with Chantel Johnson at approx. 9 pm in their apartment complex in Largo, Florida when a neighbor allegedly shot at them outside his unit.
They all lived Whispering Palms Apartments complex. The mother-daughter duo was reportedly living in the apartment above where the suspect’s was.
Chantel, who was shot in the neck, was hospitalized where she is now in stable condition, according to a family Go Fund Me page.
As per the report, the suspect - identified as Kenneth James Prince, 19 - had complained the mother and daughter about noise coming from their apartment in the past.
According to a Tampa Bay Times report, he also told officers that the women had threatened him, saying that they were "intentionally antagonizing him."
A longtime friend of the suspect told the Tampa Bay Times that Kenneth had been suffering from PTSD. He was once a homeless Marine veteran.
He has been facing multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder and second-degree murder.
In addition to shooting Marguerite and Chantel, Kenneth is accused of opening fire at a man inside a vehicle which he did that same night.
The suspect is being held without bond.
