Florida Bar Shooting: One Killed and 2 Injured, Suspect Arrested

Florida Bar Shooting! One person dead and two others injured after a gunman opened fire at a bar inside a Florida mall, authorities confirmed on Thursday, May 9.

A police spokeswoman, Casey Liening, said that the shooting occurred at approx. 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, at the Blue Martini bar in the Galleria mall in Fort Lauderdale.

One was pronounced dead at the scene while two people were rushed to a nearby hospital, with one being in critical condition.

An eyewitness, Mark Hunter, was inside the bar, said people charged the suspect to stop him from firing.

Mark said, "That was a good thing. They jumped on him to try and get him."

Another witness, Ean Carroll, describes the shooting chaotic as panicked customers realized that the rapid pops were gunfires.

The shooter, whose identification has not been disclosed, was arrested.

It's not known what caused the shooting, however, police believe it "occurred as a result of an altercation inside the establishment."

The investigation is undergoing.
