18 years old female football coach Megan Newton was found dead at a flat in Stoke over the Bank Holiday weekend. Also, the Stock City fan, Megan's dead body was discovered on Saturday afternoon.
Well, her friend Joseph Trevor, 18, who is also from Stoke-on-Trent is charged with her murder and will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today.
According to the best friend of Megan, Ricardo Eccles, they had planned to go shopping in Manchester the next day of her death, but the news of her death devasted him.
Well, following her death, for the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend, a police cordon had been placed at the scene. Also, the Stock City fans gave her a tribute in the 18th minute of their game against Norwich on Monday.
Talking about the news of Megan's death, Ricardo said,
When I got the phone call to say that it was Meg, I was so shocked. I refused to believe it at first. 'Her life has been cruelly cut short in its prime. She'd only just turned 18. She had her whole life ahead of her. It's just heart-breaking.
He further added,
She had the kind of smile that meant you couldn't help smiling too. 'I've been a complete mess for a few days but I have to try to pull myself together for Meg.
For the cause of Megan's funeral, Eccles launched a crowdfunding campaign, collecting £2,300.
Talking of their first meeting, Eccles said that they met years ago when they lived in the same road and met every few days.
