    Essie  Davis is an Australian actress best known for her portrayal of Phryne Fisher in Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Amelia Vanek in  The Babdook. Her other famous part is as Lady Crane in the season six of the hit series Game of Thrones.

    Essie was born on 7th January 1970 in Tasmania, Australia. Her nationality is American and ethnicity, White. Davis finished her high school from Clarence High School, Rosny College, the University of Tasmania. She got her early training in arts and crafts from her father.

    Later, she got genuinely interested in her career in arts and joined the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney and graduated from there in 1992.

    She began her career in theatre from Bell Shakespeare, a theatre company, where she was cast as Juliet in the production of Romeo and Juliet in 1993. Later, she performed in Hamlet and Richard III in 1993 and Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew in 1994.
