While at the Pennsylvania State University, she played for the female basketball team known as The Lady Lions. She broke the record as the shortest player ever to play for the University's female basketball team.
In the past, she worked as a general assignment reporter for ESPN. Working at ESPN, she covered a series of reports from the Middle East before the Iraq War. She is also the host of ESPN's coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics and ESPN's coverage of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
