Eric as a music aspirant apparently started his career performing in pubs in Surrey along with his friend David Brock. At the age of seventeen, he joined his first band, an early British R&B group named The Roosters along with the lead guitarist of the band Tom McGuinness.
After working with the band for seven months, Clapton joined the Yardbirds, a blues- influenced rock and roll band, staying with them until March 1965.
Clapton then joined the Bluesbreakers, however, he later got replaced by British guitarist Peter Green. Following his replacement at the Bluesbreakers, he was invited by Ginger Baker to play for his newly formed band Cream. Later in 2008, Clapton also performed in a concert for the communist state in North Korea.
He then performed a two- night show with Jeff Beck at London’s O2 Arena. In 2011, he did a concert with Pino Daniele in Cava de’ Tirreni stadium followed by several other shows in South America. Lately, in 2016, he released his twenty- third studio album I Still Do.
Eric Clapton got married to Pattie Boyd, an English model, and photographer in 1979, however, the couple eventually separated. He then got to married Melia McEnery and has three children from their relationship. Besides, in 1984 the famous guitarist, was also in an affair with Yvonne Kelly, the manager of AIR Studios Montserrat.
