In her recent interview with Vulture, she opened up about her story back then. She said,

When I first started working, I just auditioned for everything, because I like auditioning

As per her, she auditioned for the role of Daenerys Targaryen that is portrayed by Emilia Clarke at present. Talking of the audition, she said,

It was the most awkward audition I'd ever had, I auditioned for Khaleesi. I forgot that

She reportedly auditioned with Daenerys' monologue, a scene after Daenerys burns at the end of the first season of the GOT. She said,

And she's making this speech to thousands of people about how she's their queen. They didn't know if they wanted a British accent or not. So, you did it in both. It was terrible. Anytime someone says, 'Bad audition story.' That's one I remember.

Well, Elizabeth could not be the part of GOT, but she has been a part of some successful franchise like Captain America: The Winter SoldierAvengers: Age of Ultron, and many other.
