Comedian cum actors Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall are reuniting for the sequel of Coming 2 America, the hit 1988 film.

Costume designer, Ruth E. Carter, who won the Oscar not long ago for her work on Black Panther, shared a photograph of Eddie Murphy, 58, and Arsenio Hall, 63, on her Instagram account on Monday, April 8, 2018.

Both actors posed with Carter and her Oscar, which was captioned,

GOOD MORNING MY NEIGHBORS! It’s official! Preliminary fitting for Coming to America 2 with Prince Akeem, Semmi and Oscar.

In the film, Murphy portrayed the role of Prince Akeem of Zamunda, a made-up African country, who becomes tired of his spoiled way of life and decides to find a bride for himself in America with his closest companion and individual assistant, Semmi (Arsenio).

Coming 2 America was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Makeup (Rich Baker) and Best Costume Design (by Deborah Nadoolman).

Coming to America also featured other actors like James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, and John Amos.

While the plot for the spin-off is obscure, Jones, 88, is recorded as a piece of the returning cast on IMDb.

Eddie Murphy, who previously made the story, is likely to be one of the screenwriters.

The release date for the cult movie has been set for August 2020.
