DUI Suspect Plows into Home in California, killing 3 Family Members Asleep in Bed

Three family members were killed after a drunk driver, namely Ismael Huazo-Jardinez, 33, plowed into a central California home on Saturday, May 5, at a "high rate of speed," authorities have confirmed.

The family members who died include a mother, father and their 10-year-old son: all three were asleep in their beds when Ismael plowed his car into their home.

 According to a Fox 40 report, an 11-year-old girl has rushed a hospital with major injuries

Officials said the driver was treated for minor injuries. He has been arrested and charged with three counts of vehicular manslaughter and DUI, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred in Sutter County, California and we can see a totally demolished home a in the video from the scene.

As per the report, Ismael did not slow down at a turn and his vehicle —described as a trailer - tore into the home at approx. 10 p.m. The family was reportedly "very hardworking" farmworkers.

A CHP spokesman, David Hernandez, told KCRA, "If you add alcohol and speed, it’s a recipe for disaster."
