A Des Moines pastor, namely Michael Deavon Cameron, 44, was arrested for shooting at a car carrying three of his children, a daughter and two sons, Iowa authorities have confirmed.
The 44-year-old allegedly told police that he was just trying to help his daughter who’s in an abusive relationship.
However, according to the Des Moines Register report, his wife said that her husband didn't fire a shot.
"As a father of a daughter, I can completely wrap my head around wanting to protect my child if she's ever in an abusive situation," a police spokesman said, "but at some point logic has to kick in over anger." https://t.co/1hiR1hsbXU— Des Moines Register (@DMRegister) February 23, 2019
As per the report, the couple has 12 children. Two legally owned guns were found in his car, police said.
His wife told the newspaper that Michael was to "make sure this boy’s not beating up (his daughter) and he ends up in jail". The girl told her family that she was going to be assaulted.
It is unclear if the girl cooperated in the investigation. Either way, the Revival Center Church of God in Christ pastor will reportedly face a domestic abuse charge.
