Denis Akiyama, the actor who battled Keanu Reeves in Johnny Mnemonic and worked as the real-life creator of Pac-Man in Pixels, has died at the age of 66 on Thursday, June 28.
The late actor's son Kintaro Akiyama told The Hollywood Reporter that his father passed away in his hometown of Toronto after battling a "very rare and aggressive cancer.
He further said, "He went peacefully into the light on the morning of the full moon".

Most recently, Denis played Koji Yasuda on Carter alongside Jerry O’Connell. Carter is a Canadian comedic crime drama series picked up by WGN America. It will premiere in the U.S. next month.
Born on 28 May 1952, Denis had completed his graduation in psychology at York University, later working in child care before he started his acting career at George Brown College.
Besides son Kintaro, Denis is also survived by his wife, Danielle Akiyama, daughter, Miya Akiyama and brother Barry Akiyama. As per the report, Akiyama family has requested donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
