As a child, Daryl attended Owen J. Roberts High School. As both of his parents have a good musical connection, he also became involved in music since his childhood days. He completed his high school graduation from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1965. After that, he got enrolled at Temple University in Philadelphia with a major in music. During his first year in Temple, he worked with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff as a session musician. There he collaborated with his colleagues and together they formed a vocal harmony group the Temptones. In 1967, he met an American rock, R&B and soul guitarist and musician John Oates and together they formed an American musical duo Hall & Oates in 1970. Their debut album Whole Oats was released at the end of 1972. Their second album Abandoned Luncheonette was released the next year. Though their first three albums were not that popular, their 4th album 1st with RCA Records, Daryl Hall & John Oates was a massive success one. It was released on 18th of August 1975.
