Damien Leo Leith, born on 18 January 1976, in Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish-Australian singer-songwriter. He was raised along with three other siblings: a sister Aine, and two brothers Paul and Darren near Milltown, County Kildare, Ireland. He is a Capricorn. He belongs to White ethnicity and holds dual nationality, Ireland and Australia. His height is not known. He has a pair of dark brown eyes and burgundy hair.
When Leith was young, he formed a family band with his siblings, Leaf. He eventually got occupied in music. Later, after moving to Sydney, he performed in different gigs, usually as a frontman for the band Revelate. His first performance in Australia was at Circular Quay, Sydney.
Before making it big in singing, he was a chemist. He worked at a Pharmalab. He had obtained Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from University College, Dublin and had a postgraduate experience within the Metallosupramolecular Research Group of Trinity College's Chemistry Department, Dublin.
Damien Leith participated and won the title of Australian Idol (counterpart of Britain's Got Talent/BGT) 2006 despite not having the Australian nationality at that time. Leith became an Australian citizen on 25 January 2007, in front of nationally broadcasted Network Ten being pledged by then prime minister of Australia.
He competed with other 23 contestants, after being selected from 25,000 applicants. He was the first contestant to be directly moved into top 12 by direct nationwide viewer vote. His falsetto technique was praised by the judges which he put to good use in of his performance.
His win in the competition granted him a record deal with Sony BMG; his single 'Come to Me' was released on 28 November 2006, along with an official CD's other song 'Night of My Life'. His single 'Come to Me' was certified Gold within 72 hours of its release.
Leith's first Sony BMG album The Winner's Journey was released on 6 December 2006. He has released 8 albums and eight singles. He has seven platinum and one gold album and singles by ARIA.
Apart from his first album, his other albums include Where We Land (2007/08), Catch The Wind (2008), Remember June (2009), Roy (2011), Now & Then (2012), Chapter Seven (2013), and Songs From Ireland (2015). In 2016, he went on a tour celebrating his first studio album's 10th anniversary 'Winner's journey: 10th Anniversary tour' in Australia.
Leith is married to his Australian girlfriend Eileen Stapleton. They have two sons Jarvis and Jagger and a daughter. 42-years-old Damien Leith, who resides in Australia permanently with his kids and mom, has an estimated net worth of $4 million.
