A paintball-pulverize horse is set to wind up the most up to date expansion to previous Daily Show host and entertainer Jon Stewart's developing zoo of protected creatures.

The comedian and his wife run an animal sanctuary on a farm in New Jersey where they save and aid sick and disabled animals of all sorts. Working with the Omega Horse Rescue Rehabilitation Center, the Stewarts adopted Lily the pony, who was found abandoned, half blind, undernoursihed and covered in over 150 paintball marks in March.

Animal rescue and shelter organisation, Lancaster County SPCA, reports the pony – dubbed Lily by her rescuers - had a "low body condition", visual deficiency in the right eye and was severely battered and bruised.

Kelly Smith from the Center posted a statement on her Facebook page stating “Today justice was found for Lily, so the next part of her journey will begin."

“There are no words to describe how this feels. Both of these horses overcame odds that were against them.

“Now both will spend their lives with never having to be abused, neglected or unwanted.” Ms Smith continued.

Lily along with our beloved Anita, are being adopted by the comedian Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey. There are no words to describe how this feels.”
