A Colorado man - namely Chris Watts - has been charged with murder after his pregnant wife and the duo's two young daughters went missing, the Frederick Police Department confirmed during Thursday's press conference.

He was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 15, and is being held without bond at the Weld County Jail in Greeley, Colorado.

As per the report, Chris has been facing six charges in total, three for first-degree murder and three for tampering with evidence.

On Monday, August 13, Chris' wife, Shanann Watts, 33, who was 15 weeks pregnant and their children, Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, went missing from their home.

On Wednesday Shanann’s family members released a statement to CBS Denver that reads,

It is with deep hurt, confusion and anger to confirm our beautiful cousin Shanann Watts, her unborn child and her two angelic daughters, Bella [and] Celeste, were viciously murdered by husband Chris Watts; who confessed to the killings. Please keep Shanann’s parents and brother in your prayers.

During Thursday’s press conference, Colorado Bureau of Investigation director John Camper said that Shanann’s body was found in Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where Chris once worked.

John added that authorities “have strong reason to believe” they know where the bodies of the children are, but the pair's missing daughters have not been located yet.

During multiple interviews, Chris pleaded for the safe return of his wife and kids leading up to his arrest. Police have neither confirmed nor denied if Chris has confessed to the murders.
