Colin Donnell is an American actor best known for his role as Billy Crocker in Anything Goes, as Tommy Merlyn in Arrow, Dr. Connor Rhodes in the NBC medical drama Chicago Med (2015 to present), and Scotty Lockhart on the Showtime drama The Affair.
Donnell was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Ben Donnell and Francoise Donnell, on October 9, 1982. He was raised in Missouri alongside his brothers Ryan and Jason. He belongs to American nationality and White ethnicity.
At the age of 17, Colin took guitar and singing classes. He was first introduced to stage in high school when he took part in the choir and did some circus tricks and juggling in the background. He later took part in the first school musical production of Barnum. In 2005, Colin graduated from Indiana University.
Colin’s first Broadway Theatre performance was in Jersey Boys as Hank Majewski from 2005 to 2007. His other stage credits are Follies, Meet Me in St. Louis, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia, Follies.

In January 2014, Colin was confirmed as the cast in the 1960s-era Broadway musical Violet alongside Sutton Foster, and Joshua Henry, which was officially opened on April 20. In July, Colin was cast in Showtime original drama The Affair to play Joshua Jackson. Colin also starred in the musical adaption of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost as Berowne from July to August 2013.
Colin’s television debut was from the television series Pan Am (2011-12) where he played the role of Mike Ruskin. He appeared in four episodes along with Mike Vogel, Michael Mosley, Christina Ricci, Margot Robbie, Kelli Garner, and Karine Vanasse.
He got cast in CW TV series Arrow in 2012 as Tommy Merlyn, alongside Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Paul Blackthorne, Colton Haynes, and Manu Bennett. However, he had to leave the series after he was killed, but he made occasional appearances in season two and three.

In 2015, Colin was cast in NBC drama pilot Love is a Four Letter Word, where he portrayed the role of Sean, an ad agency partner. The same year Colin landed a regular role in the NBC series Chicago Med, where he is playing the role of DR. Conner Rhodes, a doctor in trauma surgery.
In 2014, Colin starred in the crime thriller movie Every Secret Thing as Paul Porter, husband of Elizabeth Banks. The movie was released on May 15, 2015.
Donnell is a married man. Likewise, he has also been in many short-term relationships. Colin had a relationship with actress Zelda Williams, the daughter of actor and comedian Robin Williams. The duo was in a relationship for about a year until they broke up in 2013.
