As a married couple, they became parents for five different times. After Cloris completed her high school graduation, she joined Illinois State University and Northwestern University. There she majored in drama. Besides her acting talent, she is also extremely beautiful. In 1946, she took part in Miss Chicago and she was also honored with this title that year. She then represented Chicago in the 1946 Miss America but was not crowned with this title. The following year, she made her acting debut by appearing in the movie Carnegie Hall. In 1950, she played the role of Effie Perrine in the TV series, Charlie Wild, Private Detective.
