They claimed the band had major problems with Marshmello partnering up with musicians who they believe are predators and abusers of women.

Following the comment, the lead singer says she's been receiving death and rape threats for speaking out.

Singer of Chvrches, Lauren Mayberry went on a long appeal before the band kicked off its headlining set at the Fortress Festival in Texas on Saturday night.

The explained why the band went after the rapper.

Lauren believes it's morally dubious for musicians to work with artists who have a prior history of violence.

Chris Brown pled guilty in 2009 on charges of assault on Rihanna and has also been the subject of an ongoing lawsuit over an alleged rape in Paris, France.

The to and fro quarrel between the artists started on Thursday when the band snapped at DJ Marshmello for collaborating with Tyga and Chris Brown in the track Light it Up.

Marshmello and Chvrches recently worked on a soundtrack together.

Rapper Chris Brown fired back on Instagram, and called the band a "BUNCH OF LOSERS" and wished,

walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients.

The feud has apparently triggered fans who have threatened to rape and shoot Lauren Mayberry, which she believes proves her point.
