Child Molester Who Faked Suicide Arrested: Previously Charged of Child Sexual Assault

A man from California who faked his suicide in an attempt to avoid imprisonment for child sexual assault and pornography charges has been apprehended in Florida this week. 

Convicted of the crime, Michael Manning, 58, has been kept in police custody in Monroe County, Fla., and is awaiting extradition to California. 

Back in 2016, Michael Manning, 58, was reportedly pleaded guilty to oral copulation of a person under 14, ownership of in excess of 600 pictures of child and youth erotic videos and two counts of sales of a minor to take part in the preparation of sexual pictures.

He was expected to be sentenced on Oct. 6, 2016, however, the day after the hearing date, Manning's suicide note was found in a rented car near the Golden Gate Bridge. Well, the body was never found, which made the police suspicious.

The incident was followed by close surveillance of the behavior and patterns of a Manning's close associate. As a result, U.S. Marshals Service could grab information about Manning being in Florida last month.

He was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies in Florida this, where he was found living in a conex storage container.

He used his fake name, William Wallace Littlejohn, and a fake U.S. passport.
