Chief Keef has never been married in his life but he is the father of four lovely children named Krüe Karter Cozart, Sno Cozart, Kayden Kash Cozart and Kimora Sosha Cozart. His nationality is American and he is of black ethnicity.

Chief began his musical interest at a young age. He received his formal education from Dulles Elementary School. Later on he joined the Banner School, a therapeutic day school. He also attended Dyett High School but he dropped out from there at the age of 15. Since then he has been pursuing his musical career. On 11th of October 2011, he released his debut mix tape under the title Bang. Before that he also released The Glory Road. He became popular as a local rapper in Chicago. But at the end of 2011, he fired gunshots from a Pontiac Grand Prix. He was noticed by the police and he was subsequently arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon. His grandmother took care of his for the next 30 days as of house arrest. While he was in a house arrest, he became active in YouTube where he posted several cover songs.
