Charo's Husband, Kjell Rasten, 79, Died From Apparent Suicide

Kjell Rasten, the husband of singer and actress Charo best known for appearing in Laugh-In and Fantasy Island, has died from an apparent suicide. He was 79.

TMZ reported that Kjell, who was married to the 1970s singer for 41 years, shot and killed himself with a gun on Monday, February 18, at approx. 2 a.m.

According to the outlet, he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Beverly Hills where he resided with Charo, 68. She was at home when his husband passed away.

Someone in the house called 911 and alerted authorities. Emergency first responders arrived at the home and tried to resuscitate Kjell but they failed to do so.

He was then rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Kjell was a television producer in the 1970s and 80s.

He and his wife shared one child, son Shel Rasten, together. Shel is an actor and a producer. The family appeared on a 2015 episode of the ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap together.

Funeral and memorial services for the late producer will be announced in the coming days. Rest In Peace Kjell Rasten!
