Hayes began her television career in 2007 by making an appearance on the eighth series of the UK's Big Brother. She started a relationship with another Big Brother contestant Ziggy Lichman while in the house.

Though they broke up and patched several times during the series, their relationship remained the highlight of the show until Hayes left the house on day 62. Soon after that, she appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines doing photo shoots and interviews and became a household name.

A few months down the line, Hayes cast in a video by Lee & Dan Special Projects, hired by MTV UK to produce an advertisement for the new MTV comedy Fur TV. She also sat for an interview on Radio 1’s Chris Moyles breakfast show. 

Chanelle has worked as a member of the judging panel in VH1 UK’s show Wannabe, where judges set up a band of 25+-year-old girls for a live concert. On another channel, she co-presented a program called live on Nuts TV with O.J. Borg.

Beginning from the first of April 2008, Hayes also starred in a VH1 UK reality TV series called Chanelle: Wannabe Popstar, which charted her progress as she attempted to make a debut single. In 2012, Chanelle launched her cake-making venture – Love Cake Love Me - after attending six cake-making courses.

Apart from her TV shows, Hayes has appeared regularly on the cover of British Lads' magazines such as Nuts and Zoo. On 1st January 2014, Chanelle published her emotional autobiography, Chanelle Hayes: Baring My Heart, which details her tragic past, Big Brother appearance, and her struggles with fame.

Chanelle is also involved with various charities and fundraising organizations. On 18 September 2011, she participated in the Great North Run, organized to collect aid for Cancer Research UK, and completed the race in two hours and forty-four minutes. She has also been a role model for obese people, having shrunk from size 16 to size 8.

On the personal side of her life, Haynes has a son, Blakely Hayes-Bates, together with former Middlesbrough football player Matthew Bates. The child was born on 20 July 2010.

Before that, she was dating David McIntosh, beginning from 2009. On 6 March 2017, she announced her pregnancy with her second child with boyfriend Ryan Oates. Frankie Edward Oates, her second son, was born on 29 August 2017. Although they unmarried, the duo is together ever since.

The British national’s net worth is said to be around $2 million, and she earns a salary of about $242,424 per year.

Television personality, singer, and model Chanelle Jade Hayes or Chanelle Jade Sinclair was born on 11 November 1987 in Wythenshawe hospital,  Manchester, England, to Andrea Sinclair, a prostitute.

An Early Loss

April 5 , 1988

Chanelle's mother was murdered by one of her clients on 5 April 1988, when Chanelle was not even five months old. She was subsequently put up for adoption and was raised in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, by Christine and Harry Hayes. It was only at the age of 15 that Chanelle found out about and reunited with her birth family.
