During Kasem became famous for his dedication towards his work. In 1981, he was awarded Hollywood Walk of Fame, National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1985, National Radio Hall of Fame in 1992. As well as Rado Hall of Fame's first Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 and had received Radio Icon award at the Radio Music Awards in 2003.
Firstly, Casey started his professional career from radio stations, began from his school days. He is best known being the host of several music radio programs like American Top 40, which he hosted for 39 years. He also gave back voice for The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Transformers, Super Friends, etc.
He has featured in several movies including, Aloha, Scooby-Doo!, Chill Out, Scooby-Doo!, Rugrats in Paris: The movie, etc. His TV series include Blue's Clues, Histeria, Johnny Bravo, 2 Stupid Dogs, Beverly Hills, 90210, Scooby-Do! Mystery Incorporated, Teamo Supremo, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Family Feud, etc.
Moving towards his personal life, Casey Kasem married twice. Firstly, he married Linda Myers Kasem in 1972. The couple gave birth to three children; Mike, Julie, and Kerri but unfortunately, Casey and Myers divorced after seven years of relationship.
After few years of Kasem first marriage, he tied the know with Jean Thompson who is an actress in 1980. Together, the couple gave birth to one child, Liberty Jean Kasem. Casey and Jean were happily married the couple, and there wasn't any problem during their marital affairs until Casey's death.
In October 2013, it was announced by Casey Kasem's daughter, Kerri that he has Parkinson's disease, which was diagnosed in 2007. A few months later, it came to know that he diagnosed with Lewy body dementia that made him unable to speak during his final months.
On 15th June 2014, at the age of 82, Casey Kasem died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington. He was buried in Oslo after several controversies between his first wife and second wife. After six months of Casey's death, his family had his interment at Oslo Western Civil Cemetery.
