California Woman, Deborah Sue Culwell, Arrested For Dumped 7 puppies in Plastic Bag

A woman, namely Deborah Sue Culwell, was arrested after dumping 7 puppies in a plastic bag in Coachella, California.

She was caught on camera dumping the bag of puppies next to a recycling bin.

Riverside County Animal Services told media that the 55-year-old woman was taken into custody at approx. 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22, on suspicion of felony animal cruelty.

Security cameras caught the woman on Thursday, April 18, driving up behind a store with a plastic bag.

The woman was then seen walking toward the recycling bin and dropping the plastic bag into it before driving away.


NEarly an hour later, a man named John rummaged through the trash and discovered that puppies were still alive. All the puppies were 3 days old and were terrier mixes.

A spokesperson for Riverside County Animal Services, John Welsh, told media that about 30 dogs were found at Deborah's home on Monday, April 22.

The dumping babies are now doing well in the care of a foster volunteer.
