California Shooting: 5 People Injured and Hospitalized After A Gunman Opened Fire

Five people were injured and rushed to a hospital on Sunday, May 5, after a gunman opened fire at in a crowd at the Oceano Dunes State Park in San Luis Obispo County, California, authorities have confirmed.

According to a KSBY report, a manhunt is currently underway for the suspect of the shooting.

The (SLO) San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting occurred just after midnight and arrests have not been made yet.

The news station reported that the public was urged to stay out of the area for the time being.

The CAL Fire SLO took to Twitter and wrote that five people were transported to the hospital on ambulances following a shooting at the Oceano Dunes State Park.

Sheriff spokesman Grace Norris didn't give an update on the conditions of the victims, but she says there were no fatalities.

It unclear if there was more than one shooter, but the sheriff doesn't believe people are at risk. Detectives conducted interviews and processed evidence at the scene on Sunday.
