Burt Reynolds laid to rest! The legendary actor's friends and family members gathered for his private funeral at Family Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, September 19.
The funeral service started with an opening prayer which was followed by a performance of a local singer Cooper Getschal's Forward to the Moon; Cooper was a student in the late actor's master acting class at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre.
The Gunsmoke star’s longtime friend Mo Mustaine shared a recollection of Reynolds' life on the stage. Meanwhile, his The Last Movie Star co-star Todd Vittum delivered a eulogy.
In the funeral, pastor Jimmy Scroggins read a scripture and a “Message of Hope” aloud. It was ended with a prayer from Reynolds' Smokey and the Bandit II co-star Patrick Moody.
As we previously reported, Reynolds, who was best known for his role in Boogie Nights, passed away on Thursday, September 6. He was 82.
As for the cause of death, he died from a heart attack at a hospital in Florida. CPR was performed for a considerable amount of time. His family and a caregiver were by his side when the actor left the world.
Shortly after Reynolds death news emerged, multiple celebrities took to social media sites to pay tribute to him.
