Brittney Griner enrolled at Nimitz High School in Huston before joining to Baylor University in Waco, Texas. At Nimitz, she played volleyball as a freshman and joined Nimitz's basketball team as a senior player. In that respect, she also led her team to state championship game, however, the tem lost against Mansfield Summit High School. WIth her currage in the game titled her with the WBCA All-American.
During the time at Baylor University, she played several games, which made her famous as greatest shot blockers, AP Second Team All-American, AP player of the year, and Premier Player of Women's College Basketball etc.
