A 4-year-old boy died after his dad allegedly left him alone for hours in an SUV that gradually heated up, eventually killing him at a food festival in St. Paul.

The dad has been identified as a 26-year-old Apple Valley man and his name is Kristopher A. Taylor.

As per the report, Kristopher remains in jail on the bail of $25,000. He has been charged with a single count of second-degree manslaughter connected to the death of his son, Riley Taylor.

He has yet to enter a plea.

Citing court records filed on Monday, May 6, the Star Tribune reported that Kristopher worked the Minnesota Monthly 8th Annual Grillfest on Saturday, May 4.

The father told investigators that he had parked his car in a nearby parking lot and according to the papers, one of the windows was cracked.

He allegedly said, "Taylor said he didn’t think it was that hot."

He reportedly left his son at approx. 11:30 a.m. and returning after work at approx. 5:15 p.m. His son was "stiff" and unresponsive when he returned.

The father took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
