Rising Pop Singer Billy Clayton Dies of Bone Cancer At Age 22

Billy Clayton, the rising pop singer and protege of Charli XCX, has died at the age of 22. As for the cause of death, he passed away after a long battle with bone cancer.

His death was announced by his family. His mother, Becky Clayton, took to Twitter on Thursday, March 28, to confirm that her son died peacefully in his home on Tuesday evening.

She wrote in the sad tweet, "He held on for so long and had more strength than anyone could ever imagine."

The mom added,

But his body would no longer allow him to live the life he desperately wished for and his soul needed to escape to be free.

Clayton had been suffering from Ewing's Sarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer because of which he wasn't able to sing toward the end of his life.

Becky shared another note on Billy's twitter account where she wrote how he was suffering from the bone cancer for more than four years.

Here's the tweet, check it out.

Shortly after Billy's death news emerged, multiple stars including singers Jesse Saint John and Allie X took to social media sites to pay tribute him.

Rest In Peace Billy Clayton!
