Billy Bush and Sydney Davis' split has become official! The 46-year-old radio host's estranged wife has filed for divorce on Friday, July 13, after 20 years of marriage (married in 4 April 1998), multiple sources have confirmed.
According to online records from the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Sydney cited the reason for the split as "irreconcilable differences" and she has reportedly requested joint legal and primary physical custody of the duo’s youngest daughters, Mary, 17, and Lillie, 13.
The estranged couple also shares daughter Josie, 19; she is considered an adult by the court. Additionally, Davis has requested spousal support, according to the website.
The divorce filing comes almost 10 months after the pair announced their separation.
The former Today show co-host's representative said in a statement on September 19,
After almost 20 years of marriage, they have separated for the moment to evaluate their life together. They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future.
The split came nearly a year after the news of Billy's involvement in the Access Hollywood tape, in which U.S. President Donald Trump bragged to him about groping women.
The television star was fired from Today in the wake of the scandal. Just after a month after the tape released, the real estate mogul, who brushed off the lewd conversation as “locker-room talk,” was elected president a month after the tape’s release.
In May 2017, Billy told The Hollywood Reporter, "I am not grateful for the moment. But I’m grateful for what I’ve gotten out of it. I’m grateful that it hit me all the way to my core."
