Back in February, a press release held to promulgate Beyonce's world tour announced, “True to her life’s work of always giving back, fans will be given the opportunity to participate in Beyoncé’s #BeyGood initiative supporting local United Way programs and the continued work surrounding the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.”

And now, Beyonce, just ahead of her concert at Ford Field on Tuesday, has stayed true to her words to aid the victims of Flint's water crisis as her Parkwood Entertainment presented the United Way of Genesee County with a generous cheque for $82,234 to deal with the city's lead-tainted water supply, her representatives have announced.

The funds were raised by Beyonce fans who were provided with the option to contribute towards the Flint charity while buying the tickets for her Formation world tour.

Ivy McGregor, the director of philanthropy and corporate relations, said 'We were pleased to announce the collective funds raised through our United Way relationship which allowed fans to donate online to the Flint water crisis at the point of purchasing Beyoncé Formation World Tour concert ticket.'

On top of the monetary support to the community of Flint, BeyGOOD, Beyonce's philanthropic platform that has joined hands with United Way throughout the Formation World Tour to help both Flint and volunteerism in local communities across North America, is also encouraging fans across the country to be involved in local community events and to support in the areas of education, income and health.

Dates and ticket information regarding Beyonce's formation tour can be found on her official site.
