Baby Girl, 2, Reunites With Family: Found inside a Stolen Car

A 2-year-old baby girl who was taken by someone from outside a Chicago restaurant was reunited with her family after being found safe inside a stolen car, authorities confirmed on Sunday, April 21.

The police said that the girl was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital "as a precaution".

Chicago police were looking for a white Kia after it was taken with the baby inside approx. 12:30 a.m. Sunday outside a restaurant in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road.

A 28-year-old woman reportedly left her car running with the baby asleep in the back seat as she was picking up food. When she returned, the car white 2018 Kia Forte was not there.

The car had a Georgia license plate number, RKR7648.

According to police, an eyewitness told officers that the car fled east on Roosevelt before it turned south on Independence Boulevard.

The car was reportedly found in the 3900 block of West Polk Street.

As of Sunday, no arrests were made. Area North detectives have been investigating the case.
