B Jaya, Tollywood Director, Dies at Age 54: Cause of Death Is Heart Attack

Hearty Condolence! B Jaya, one of the few women directors to make a mark in South Indian film industry (Tollywood), has died at 9.20 pm on Thursday, August 30 in a private hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. She was 54.

As for the cause of death, the renowned journalist-turned-filmmaker, who had been suffering from a prolonged illness, passed away due to a heart attack.

Shortly after the tragic news broke, many Tollywood actors and directors celebrities took to Twitter to pay tribute to B Jaya condolences from the industry poured in on Twitter.

B Jaya's passing comes just a day after the sudden death of another Tollywood actor Nandamuri Harikrishna.

The late film maker is survived by her husband BA Raju, who is a popular PRO in Telugu film industry and son Shiva Kumar.

B Jaya made her directorial debut with 2003's Chantigadu starring Baladitya and Suhasini. Her other film credits are Gundammagari Manavadu, Premikulu, SavalLovely and more.

She was also known for introducing new talents to the Telugu film industry; she introduced actresses Kamna Jethmalani and Shanvi Srivatsava to Tollywood.
