At least 3 dead And Several Injured in a Train Crash in Pretoria

A recent train crash in Pretoria, South Africa, is claimed to have killed at least 3 people and several are said to be injured.

As per the reports, two trains were traveling in the same direction and on the same track, which unfortunately resulted in a collision. The train collided on Tuesday morning at Mountain View station, Pretoria.

Addressing the accident, Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng told News24,

I can confirm that there is a train collision in Mountain View and a number of commuters are injured. Most unfortunately as a result of the collision and the impact, we had three fatalities from this accident and more than 300 people that were seen by emergency services

Further, many passengers are still said to be stuck insides the train and officials are at best to rescue the trapped one and provide the emergency service.

Talking about the situation at the spot, ER24's Russel Meiring stated,

Numerous passengers were found either in the trains or found walking around on the scene. Paramedics immediately set up a triage area to assess the patients

Further, one of the passengers who was severely injured was airlifted to the hospital for the treatment, a spokesperson for Best Care Ambulance services Xander Loubser reported. 

Well, the detailed investigation of the accident is currently in the process and the train service between Mobapane and Pretoria and Garankuwa and Pretoria has also been put to a halt to make sure of the safety.
