Early in his career, Aron Ralston served as a resident assistant, studied abroad and was an active intramural sports member. Later, he left his job as a mechanical engineer with Intel in Arizona and moved to Aspen to follow a life of climbing mountains.
After that, he started dreaming of climbing all of Colorado Fourteeners that are over 14000 ft. high. Then, in 2005, he became the first person to climb all of them solo in the winter. During one of his solo climbs, he was caught in Grade 5 on Resolution Peak with his skiing co-partners Mark Beverly and Chadwick Spencer.
On April 26, Aron had an accident while hiking through the Blue John Canyon in eastern Wayne County. The rock broke his left hand while he crushed his right hand against the canyon wall.
After the accident, he again started climbing mountains, including participating in a climbing expedition. Aron also worked on the Late show along with David Letterman and also appeared on shows like The Today Show, Good Morning America and The Tonight Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, CNN Saturday Morning and Minute to Win it.
During 2006, Aron was promoted as a panelist in Miler Lite ‘Man Laws. Then he performed on the Australian interview show Enough Rope.
Apart from that, he joined the reality show Alone in the Wild, where he had to survive in the wild in front of the camera. He also appeared in the Comedy Central show Tosh-0 along with host Daniel Tosh and he performed in the blockbuster film 127 Hours along with James Franco.
Aron is a married man. In fact, he is a divorcee and is currently dating his girlfriend Vita Shannon. The latter has been arrested in the past because of issues regarding domestic violence, though she was set free by the court due to the lack of evidence. Aron was previously married to his wife Jessica Trusty.The couple has a son named Leo.
Aron has earned` quite a lot of money from his professional career. As an American outdoorsman, motivational speaker and mechanical engineer, he has several sources of income. Aaron's book, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, became a New York Times bestseller, which means that Aaron must have made at least a couple of hundred thousand dollars if not millions of dollars from the book.
Similarly, the movie adaptation of the book, 127 Hours, earned more than $60.7 million USD against the budget of $18 million. His current net worth is estimated to be around $4 million.
