Arizona Woman Smothers Mom to Death and Places a Gin Bottle on Body

An Arizona woman, namely Holly Brennan, 46, smothered her mother with a pillow till death and settled a gin bottle on her dead body on Monday, May 13, authorities have confirmed.

After the 46-year-old to suffocated her 79-year-old mom, Sharon Simmons, using a pillow,  she walked to a convenience store to buy two bottles of liquor.

Citing court documents, Arizona Central reported that she brought a vodka for herself and gin for her mother.

Police found Sharon in a bedroom with the bottle on her stomach and a pillow had partially covered her face.

According to the court documents, the daughter called Scottsdale police two times at approx. 2 p.m. after her the death of her mom.

She initially told the officer, "My name is Holly, and I need police here."

And in a second call, she reportedly said, "I killed my mom. When police asked Brennan how her mother died, she allegedly admitted to "smothering."

The documents stats that Holly threatened her mother to kill on at least two occasions, including a 2017 Facebook post, which led to her to get arrested.

The woman, who is being held in Maricopa County Jail, reportedly detailed her actions while talking to police.

She told officers that her mom was onto her bed when she climbed on top of her and pressed a pillow to her face.

Holly is charged with second-degree murder.
