Araksya Karapetyan was born on August 27, 1982, in Gyumri, Armenia, during the rule of the Soviet Union in Armenia. She is currently 36 years old.

Her mother's name is Gayane Tumanyan while the name of her father is not available. The family later moved to Palos Verdes Estates, California, the United States of America where Karapetyan was raised along with her younger sister.

She witnessed the Armenian earthquake of 1998 that had left her native city devastated. She was 6 years old when the devastating earthquake hit her hometown.

The ethnic conflict with Azerbaijan was also intensified as the Soviet Union was ruling the nation and due to these hardships, the Karapetyan family had to emigrate to the United States in 1990.

Following her graduation from Syracuse University, Araksya Karapetyan started her television career as an intern at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. She then worked at KFI 640 AM radio in Burbank, California.

She has since worked for numerous television station. She served as a reporter, anchor, and producer for KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and as a reporter and host for KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon.

She has also worked as a reporter at CitiCABLE in the City of Torrance, California. CitiCABLE is a government access cable television channel.

In 2012, Araksya joined the KTTV Channel, and her work on the channel rose her to fame. As of 2019, she serves as an anchor for the Good Day L.A. in Los Angeles. The entertainment program airs every morning.

Araksya Karapetyan is a married woman. The TV personality, who is fluent in Armenian and English and is "conversational" in Spanish and Russian, has been married to her loving husband Amir Yousefi.

The love story of the couple began years ago when they met through friends in Palos Verdes, California. As their relationship started, Araksya moved to New York to attend college, and then to Idaho and Oregon to pursue her journalism career.
