Angelo Bertolotti, Brittany Murphy’s Farther, Dies 9 Years After Her Death

Angelo BertolottiBrittany Murphy’s father died after an illness on Tuesday, January 22, in Los Angeles, a source confirmed Radar Online. He was 92.

The insider told the website that Angelo had been "unconscious" for "a couple of months" before his death. The source added, "There were complications".

Angelo Bertolotti was a World War II combat veteran who was estranged from Brittany and her mother and his ex Sharon Murphy.

His son Jeff Bertolotti took to Facebook and wrote of his dad's passing that he would be taken off life support.

Jeff wrote, "He passed with my beautiful sister Pia at his bedside, Frank Sinatra in his ears and a quiet calm on his face. RIP Pop's, I'll miss your crazy insane ass, forever"

Angelo's death comes nine years after his daughter actress daughter, Brittany Murphy, who appeared on Clueless8 Mile and Uptown Girls, died suddenly. She was 32.

Brittany collapsed in the bathroom of her home in Los Angeles on December 20, 2009. She told her mom, Sharon Murphy, at the time that she was having trouble breathing.

It was later revealed that she passed away from a combination of pneumonia, anemia and drug intoxication.
