Michael Ketterer, America’s Got Talent finalist, was arrested just one day after he finished in fifth place on the season 13 finale of the singing reality show.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told Us Weekly that the singer, 41, was taken into the custody for felony domestic violence on Thursday, September 20 at 3:45 p.m. in Hollywood.

Michael was later released after posting $50,000 bail.

According to the TMZ report, the songster allegedly had a fight with his wife, Ivey Ketterer. The fight left her with a visible red mark on her body.

The performer, however, told the website that his arrest was a “misunderstanding.” He admitted to have an argument with his wife in their hotel room but he claims she did not want to press charges.

Earlier in the season, AGT judge Simon Cowell used his coveted Golden Buzzer on Michael sending him straight through to the live shows.

The former American Idol judge, 58, was touched by his story about his six children with his wife, five of whom they adopted from foster care.
