Alabama Shooting: 1 Killed and 8 Injured After Gunfire Erupted at a High School Graduation Party

One person was killed and eight were wounded after multiple suspects opened fire at a high school graduation party in Alabama, authorities have confirmed.

According to eyewitnesses, there was a graduation party for the seniors of Escambia County High School when a fight between two women broke out.

As people were trying to separate them, gunshots were fired inside the community center and several people were hit.

According to Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks, officers responded to a 911 call about the gunshots at approx. 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 18.

When officers reached the scene, gunshots were still being fired. Police found one man dead in the cafeteria of the center.

The eight injured people were rushed to a local hospital where they were being treated. The conditions of the victims have not been available.

According to the witnesses, the gunfire erupted drew hundreds. The suspects, who fled the scene, are still at large.

Authorities are still investigating the case.
