SHEILA E WAS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL OF THE SINGER'S PROTÉGÉES

Sheila E went on to find her own success with songs such as The Glamorous Life which was released in 1984 and earned her the Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

Sheila E continues to work in the music industry. Upon hearing the news of her ex-boyfriend's death, she wrote on Twitter “My heart is broken. There are no words. I love you!

SHEILA E NEVER GOT MARRIED AFTER PRINCE

Nearly ten years after Prince and Sheila met, during an emotional performance of the song "Purple Rain" in 1987, Sheila E. said Prince turned around to her and asked her, “Marry me?”

They were engaged for a while but they never got married.

This reportedly left Sheila E devastated. When the inevitable end of their relationship came, Sheila E disclosed that she had become very annoyed at the type of music that Prince was inclining towards.

“His songs were getting too dirty for my tastes,” she disclosed. “It just wasn’t fun to be around.”

And Prince was her boss and a very cruel one at that. On a tour, Prince refused to let her fly home for her grandmother’s funeral.

They broke up ultimately. Prince moved on to several more women, but Sheila E couldn’t love anyone else the way she loved Prince. Prince seriously became the love of her life whom she couldn’t get and even forget.

After her break up from Prince, she never got married or had children.

Prince, however, married twice and divorced both the times, but Sheila E couldn't move on from the mess Prince had created in her life.
