Actress Elmarie Wendel, ‘3rd Rock From the Son’ Star, Dies at Age 89

Elmarie Wendel, best known for her role as Mrs. Dubcek on the NBC sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun, has died at the age of 89 on Saturday, July 21.

Her daughter J.C. Wendel, who is also an actress, took to Instagram on Sunday night to announced the sudden death of her mother.

Alongside a photo of the NBC's hit series' - which ran from 1996 to 2001 - cast members the Quantum Leap actress wrote, "You were a great mom and a badass dame."

The cause of death of the late actress is yet to be revealed. However, due to her old age, we can assume her passing from natural causes or pre-existing conditions like heart troubles.

Elmarie's 3rd Rock co-star, Jim Beaver, was among them who took to Twitter to pay tribute to his friend.

Alongside a photo of his friend, Jim wrote, "I've just heard from her daughter JC that my friend and colleague from 3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN, Elmarie Wendel, has died. She was raucous, funny, endearing, and terribly, terribly sweet. Goodnight, Mrs. Dubcek, wherever you are."

Born on 23 November 1932 in Iowa, Elmarie also appeared on George Lopez, Criminal Minds: Suspect BehaviorSeinfeldGeneral Hospital, The Lorax and Execs.
