Decades before the slew of sexual harassment and misconduct allegations arose against Harvey WeinsteinJason Priestley allegedly had a run-in with him which led to Jason punching the disgraced filmmaker in the face, multiple sources have confirmed.

On Friday, the 48-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 star recounted the incident via Twitter after it was first revealed by Tara Strong, who suggested Harvey might have tried to derail Jason’s career after the fight in the same way Harvey allegedly had done to whistleblowers Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino.

The fight occurred at the Miramax after party for the 1995 Golden Globes, according to Jason.

When asked by a fan if there was more to Strong’s story, Jason wrote,

Harvey told me I had to leave… I was leaving when he grabbed me by the arm and said ‘What are you doing? ‘I said ‘You told me leave, I’m leaving. I didn’t say you had to leave’ he replied. ‘You just told me to leave… right over there’ I tell him once again.

Jason said:

That when things got “heated”. He then grabs me tighter and says ‘Why don’t we go outside and talk about this,’ That was all I needed to hear.

She added:

I’m not going anywhere with you’ I said as I pushed him back and punched [Weinstein] with a right hand to his face. Suddenly, there were security guards pulling us apart and I was escorted out of the party…

Jason didn't say it had had any other interactions with Harvey, or if the filmmaker had retaliated in any way.

A representative for Harvey didn't respond to media's request for comment on the alleged incident.
